3/18  So I guess we won't be going to Easter Island. We went to the horse races this afternoon and see below. Yup we bet 1000 and lost. Oh well we are on vaca. Just kidding, it was 1000 pesos ($2) each. They manually put up the numbers of the horses and in which order they finished. No electronic scoreboards here!
We had a real relaxing day. Slept in, spent the early afternoon walking around and exploring. Terry and I shared a McDonalds Happy Meal just to see if it was the same. Very close. We came upon the casino where they had a poker tournament this past weekend, made us think of grandpa. We saw a fort that looks as if it was just built. Very majestic and in good shape. We walked along the beach some more. The waves were so big that when they crashed you could feel the vibration sitting on the beach... no exaggeration. I could sit there all day watching them. We enjoyed another completo on the way to the horsetrack.
It is 8 pm now. We are hanging out till 10 when we will take a taxi to the bus station for an overnight ride. Hope I can sleep like the last two times
