3/11  We treated ourselves and slept in. I tentatively got out of bed, but my knees were fine. My thighs were a little tight and sore, but all is well. Terry is back to normal too. So...... guess we have to find a place to go tomorrow. Today will be a plan and relaxing day.
Well, we walked along the lake. It was nice and sunny. It is really a pretty town. We checked out the town and looked ALL over for a sticker. None to be had. G and I felt we deserved a "I I hiked the volcano" sticker. Not only were there no stickers, there are no souvenirs. Strange. Oh well.
We had quite a time finding out how to get to where we wanted to go next...Talco. On the map it looks like it is right along the Pan American highway. But I guess you can't get there from here. Every bus agent from 5 different bus lines said you had to go up to Santiago, 10 hours, then back down 3 hours to Talco.  After some more googling, it seems you have to go to Temuco, 1 hour away, first and then from there to Talco. Why wouldn't they just tell you that? It is a 7 hour trip for $23 each. What a deal. We found a nice hostel too. In this place, we want to take a wine tour. This central part of Chile is the wine capital. Yeah, a break from trekking. It is also only a 1 hour bus ride to the coast. There are many little fishing villages along here. Should be something interesting and different.
